PI North America has launched a pair of online forums on its us.profinet.com website. Both a PROFIBUS forum and a PROFINET forum are available to the general public to ask questions and seek answers.
PI North America is a non-profit, member-supported automation organization for fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet, specifically PROFIBUS and PROFINET. It is dedicated to supporting the discrete and process industries in achieving beneficial results using these networks.
Moderated by the PROFIBUS and PROFINET experts at the PROFI Interface Center in Johnson City, TN, and supervised by PI North America, the forums will provide a centralized location to find answers. Aren’t sure how many devices per PROFIBUS segment? Trying to understand naming convention in PROFINET? Looking for a specific piece of documentation that you can’t seem to find? These are the types of questions we are prepared to answer for any and all users of the technologies.
The PROFIBUS Forum can be found at:http://us.profinet.com/forums/forum/profibus/
The PROFINET Forum can be found at:http://us.profinet.com/forums/forum/profinet/
PI North America also assists device manufacturers in the development and marketing of PROFIBUS and PROFINET products. It is one of 27 regional associations that make up the global PI community. Established in 1989, PI has more than 1,400 members, who have developed and now supply more than 2,500 devices.
