The drive is compatible with numerous industrial Ethernet protocols, and offers a universal encoder interfacing capability, local motion control programming, and integrated functional safety capability. Processing performance is 20 times the speed of one of the company's existing generations of smart drives. The integrated Ethernet interface offers EtherCAT for real-time control of multi-axis systems. In addition, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and RAW Ethernet are supported to enable control possibilities with other controllers such as PLC and Industrial PCs. Advanced programming is standard using the MINT high level multitasking language for motion applications. Other features include Safe Torque Off that provides SIL3 PLe certified prevention of rotation for machine safety applications, high speed registration inputs and 2 x 24 V fast isolated inputs that can be used to latch feedback device position in hardware and trigger software events locally in Mint, or to the central controller such as AC500 PLC via EtherCAT.
