气动元件和系统制造商,and specialist supplier of drive and control solutions for the marine industry and commercial vehicles, was formerly Rexroth Pneumatics.
With roots going back to the invention of the air brake in 1869, Aventics Corp. this month celebrated the 50-year anniversary of its Lexington, Kentucky manufacturing facility with associates and their families, retirees and distributors.
Aventics is a globally active manufacturer of pneumatic components and systems that employs approximately 2,100 staff worldwide. The company is also a specialist supplier of drive and control solutions for the marine industry and commercial vehicles, as well as inverted tooth chains for production processes.
Formerly a subsidiary of Bosch Rexroth, Aventics has been operating as a standalone company since the start of 2014. In addition to its Kentucky factory, Aventics has locations in Laatzen (near Hanover) and in Gronau/Leine, Germany; Bonneville, France; Eger, Hungary; and Changzhou, China.
“Aventics as a standalone company is quite new, but the company roots for pneumatics go all the way back to 1869 when it was part of Westinghouse Air Brake,” said Marketing Manager John Bridges. In the 145 years since George Westinghouse invented the air brake, the company name and ownership have change several times; previous names include: WABCO Fluid Power (division of American Standard); The Rexroth Corporation, Pneumatics Division; Mannesmann Rexroth, Pneumatics Division; Mannesmann Rexroth Corporation, Rexroth Mecman Division; Bosch Rexroth Corporation, Pneumatics; and Rexroth Pneumatics Corporation.
“What has not changed,” added Bridges, “is the company and its commitment to producing quality components and systems. Customers are served by six global factories and sales networks in over 40 countries.”
Aventics products include: pneumatic and electro-pneumatic valves and positioners, pneumatic fieldbus manifold systems, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic actuators and control systems, air preparation, industrial shock absorbers, pneumatic fittings and tubing, vacuum generators, suction cups, non-contact transport units, electronic transmission controls, pneumatic and electronic marine propulsion controls, and inverted tooth chain.
