The app uses the acceleration sensors, gyroscopes and microphones integrated in the iPhone and iPad to measure vibrations on machines and components at frequencies of up to 50 Hz. Upgrading to the new ‘PRO’ version of the app increases the range to 8000 Hz. The user simply connects an external USB sensor (available from a third party) to the iOS device via the lightning port and an adaptor. Measurement results can be saved or emailed directly to company. Core functionalities of the app include three-axis measurement; variable measuring time; variable start delay of 0 to 20 seconds; triggering; sampling frequencies from 10 Hz to 100 Hz for the internal sensor, 1 Hz to 16 kHz for external Digiducer sensor; adjustable Auto Repeat function; and transmission/storage of measurement data via email as a CSV file.
