Advantech: Small Form Factor Embedded Automation Computer

Using the low power Intel Atom N2800 (1.86 GHz) processor enables the unit to offer the power and functionality of a larger system. It also comes with 2 GB DDR3 memory, one GbE port, three USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232 port, one VGA port, and one audio port. The computer offers a choice of both DIN-rail and VESA mounting options and can be secured to the rear of the company's range of flat panel monitors. It is also available to accept the full range of the company's iDoor technology modules for fieldbus protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT and Powerlink; memory expansion and storage with backup RAM, Cfast/Compact Flash and SD/mSD; digital and analog I/O such as multi-function, analog I/O, digital I/O & counter, smart sensors such as smart meter, pressure sensor, temperature sensor and light sensor; and communication such as GPS, 3G, LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, GPRS, ZigBee, RFID, Bluetooth, and LTE. In order to act as a gateway, the unit is designed to communicate with manufacturing equipment and send data to cloud services. But, before it does that it filters and aggregates the data and reduces the load on the cloud. As an intelligent gateway device, the computer reduces latency by detecting and responding to issues before they happen and allows customers to capture data and get value from the sensors without need to send data to the cloud.
