It also features technologies originally developed for the vendor’s servo drive products, such as adaptive auto-tuning, which automatically compensates for changes in load inertia, resulting in smoother operation, less downtime and lower operating costs. Designed for versatility, the A700 uses encoder feedback to operate in flux-vector mode to generate torque at zero speed and allowing position control. With a speed response time of 300 radians per second—ten times faster than the A500—the A700 reacts quickly and efficiently to sudden load changes. Used without an encoder, the A700 uses the vendor’s “Real Sensorless Vector” algorithm to provide a 200:1 speed range.
High-performance VFD
The A700 high-performance variable frequency drive (VFD) can control motors range from 1/2 to 600 horsepower. The A700—a replacement for the A500 and A500L drives—is the first drive from the vendor to include a built-in programmable logic controller.
