Based on an Intel Atom D510 processor, the energy controller has two LAN and three COM ports and IRIG-B, and is designed for flexibility. It features two integrated I/O slots that can be used to add a range of optional cards such as the ECU-P1706, a 250 kS/s, 16-bit, simultaneous eight channel analog input card used to monitor vibrations or the ECU-P1300, a vibration signal modulation card for monitoring vibrations from the transformer and the gearbox of a wind power turbine. Lastly, the ECU-P1702 is a 10 MS/s 12-bit simultaneous four channel analog input card used for monitoring the partial discharging of the transformer. It includes isolated IO ports, is fanless, has no internal cabling, and is protected against other damaging effects such as electrical surges and EMI.
