Phoenix Contact introduces a new line of I/O and data cordsets designed specifically for the North American market. Thanks to a new production line and service model at its U.S. facility, the company manufactures cordsets for the North American market within five business days on more than 500 pigtail and extension cable configurations.
Most are designed and manufactured at Phoenix Contact’s U.S. headquarters in Lower Swatara Township, Pa., just outside Harrisburg. A complete on-site test qualification lab means that Phoenix Contact can locally qualify new cable materials for use with overmolded cordsets. The local production leads to a faster turnaround time for customers.
The “Speedy TranSACtion” program encompasses more than 350 standard cordset lengths that are factory-stocked in the United States. In addition, nearly 150 customizable cordsets are available through Phoenix Contact’s “CMAT” service.
The products include M12 and M8 standard-length and customizable cordsets, built with the look and feel common in North America. The M12 and M8 standard cabling, available in yellow PVC cable, are sunlight-resistant and rated for -30 to 105 degrees Celsius. The three-, four-, and five-position M12 cable assemblies meet ITC/PLTC rating, which allows installation in industrial cable trays/raceways in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) Articles 725/727.
Cordsets with a single connector head, often referred to as pigtails, are available in standard lengths of 2, 5 and 10 meters. Those with two connector heads, referred to as extension cables, come in 0.5 and 1.5 meter standard lengths. The range adds M12 SPEEDCON, shielded cordsets, eight-position M12, Ethernet and DeviceNet to the local production facility.
