The topic of databases in manufacturing has been quite active lately. Last week saw the release of GE Intelligent Platform’s combined Proficy Historian 5.0 and Historian Analyses software, and now comes news of a root cause analysis (RCA) software application that allows for the storage of root cause analyses in a private, shared database.
Causelink Enterprise RCA software, fromSologic, is reportedly the first application to provide dashboard and report views of a company’s entire RCA body of knowledge.
According to Sologic, Causelink Enterprise users can:
• Spot systemic opportunities through automated common cause detection;
• Use metrics to identify trends, such as incidents of a certain type, over a select period of time, by location (accompanying visuals indicate level of risk and high-impact events);
• Track solution implementation workflow and effectiveness;
• Monitor RCA progress and key performance indicators;
• Track analyses by user, group and location; and
• Track actions related to analyses and solution implementation.
By hosting the software in your private network, Sologic says Causelink Enterprise is a secure means of connecting to a shared RCA database. The company also touts the IT-friendly features of the software, including its ability to integrate with other software solutions, such as action tracking, IT service management, and third-party application programming interfaces, as well as Active Directory.
You’ll have to wait a bit to fully experience Causelink Enterprise, as it is currently in Beta with release planned for December 2012.
