Hilscher, a global manufacturer of industrial communication solutions, has announced support for PROFINET @ TSN technology on its portfolio of netX multiprotocol network controllers. netX is a single-chip ASIC that provides a master and/or slave communication connection to all leading Industrial Ethernet systems, fieldbuses and Industry 4.0 protocols.

Hilscher has offered PI technology communication solutions for many years, beginning with PROFIBUS and including PROFINET RT and IRT, both for controllers as well as devices. With PROFINET @ TSN we see a successful future strategy for PI technology in Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

With netX’s software-defined multiprotocol interface, Hilscher currently supports the Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) protocol. This TSN deployment on netX has proven highly successful over the last several years in Testbeds from the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) and Labs Network Industrie 4.0 (LNI4.0).

Since the netX chip can be made TSN-capable by simple software updates, it was a logical next step for Hilscher to implement PROFINET @ TSN. Combined with Hilscher’s extensive PROFIBUS and PROFINET experience, we can now offer solutions covering the complete spectrum of PI technologies.

除了支持PROFINET @听——技术y on our existing netX controllers, we are constantly expanding our portfolio capabilities. For example, the new netX 90 controller, designed specifically for slave devices, supports all the proven communication protocols, including Real-time Ethernets, PROFINET@TSN, OPC UA and MQTT, and offers sophisticated security features. Hardware-based authentication, secure boot and secure communication ensure products can be designed to meet the stringent security requirements for Industry 4.0 and IIoT.

Hilscher is pleased to take the next step towards Industry 4.0 with PI and PROFINET@TSN.
