Factory networks take a big step forward at SPS 2018

A group of leading technology companies from the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will be announcing a significant step toward the future of open industrial Ethernet at SPS IPC Drives 2018.

Prominent members of the CLPA including Analog Devices, Balluff, CKD, FESTO, Hilscher, Hirschmann, HMS, Mitsubishi Electric, Molex, Renesas and Security Matters will together be announcing a significant new Ethernet technology that the group predicts will fundamentally change the landscape for Industrial Ethernet.

Already offering the open network technology with the highest bandwidth at 1Gbps, the CLPA will take another significant step forward with the new developments being outlined at the event.

John Wozniak, Manager of the CLPA in the Americas, comments: “The implementation of Industry 4.0 (IIoT) concepts is occurring faster than most experts have predicted. The IIoT and ‘smart factories’ now have many real-world applications, and these trends rely on efficient high-bandwidth networking solutions. The amount of data generated by these manufacturing processes is expected to undergo an “explosion” of exponential growth. Hence networks that address this trend towards “big data” are vital. Moreover, these networks need to be connected seamlessly to company IT systems and the internet.

“高带宽,开放网络技术,如千兆以太网CC-Link IE提供了一个重要的工具,帮助最终用户和系统集成商向前移动,但我们的最新发展涉及履行许多合作伙伴和市场表达的进一步目标。可以安全地说,我们期待对SPS IPC驱动器2018年开放工业以太网未来的积极反应。“
