Rittal Forms New Business Unit To Support Customized Enclosure Production

威图公司,世界上最大的围栏manufacturer and a leader in thermal management of electrical, electronic and IT equipment, has created a new business unit: Rittal Automation Systems.

威图公司,世界上最大的围栏manufacturer and a leader in thermal management of electrical, electronic and IT equipment, has created a new business unit: Rittal Automation Systems. The business unit was formed by integrating Rittal sister company Kiesling Maschinentechnik, a producer of machining centers for enclosure assembly, cutting centers, automatic assembly systems for terminal strips, assembly tables, and enclosure test units, into the overall Rittal organization.

The new Rittal Automation Systems business unit extends Rittal’s comprehensive range of solutions for panel building and switchgear engineering through key machining and handling technologies. Now with a comprehensive range of equipment available for professional workshop operation, from manual tools to sophisticated fully automated mechanical engineering, Rittal offers a comprehensive, one-stop portfolio for customers across the world.

“The integration of Kiesling into Rittal and the creation of Rittal Automation Systems offers customers solutions to increase productivity by automating previously manual modification and wiring processes. The modularity of the Rittal product lines also lends itself well to automated machining and handling, which makes this a valuable addition to the Rittal family,” said Mike Herzog, Business Manager, Rittal Automation Systems. “The capabilities offered by our fully automated machining centers reduce the amount of human labor required to process modified enclosures which results in time- and cost-efficient production, increases quality, adds repeatability to processes and reduces lead-times to customers.”

The Rittal Automation Systems portfolio comprises a broad range of products, from manual tools to fully automated machining centers.

Laser center for precise machining
The Perforex BC machining center is extremely precise, and fully automated. It can be deployed for drilling, thread tapping, and milling when machining enclosures. Rittal is unique in offering laser technology to quickly and accurately machine flat parts, and entire enclosures and housings, using its Perforex LC 3D laser center. In addition, the Secarex cutting center rapidly cuts cable ducts and support rails to size.

Crimping machine simplifies assembly
The Athex automatic assembly machine simplifies a task previously performed manually – it assembles and labels terminals. And for the first time, Rittal’s offering now includes a crimping machine for cutting and assembling cables.

Robotic systems accelerate wiring
The Averex center eliminates time-consuming manual wiring of mounting plates. Instead, the system offers fully automated wiring in line with applicable standards and safety requirements.

Rittal Automation Systems will leverage two of its sister companies, EPLAN and Cideon, in providing the full complement of Industry 4.0 services in an end-to-end solution for Rittal’s customers. EPLAN provides electrical, fluid power and instrumentation & control CAE products with interfacing capabilities that enable the sharing of data with mechanical design and other 3rd party enterprise systems. Cideon provides engineering software development, system house fields, and services.
