Anne Cooney leads the newly formed Process Industries and Drives division for Siemens in the U.S. Prior to this role, Cooney was the Chief Operating Officer for the global division of Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

Cooney began her career with GE Transportation as a machinist apprentice in a four-year program, and spent more than 21 years in various roles such as plant management, materials management, international marketing, strategic sourcing, and product and inventory management among others. Immediately before joining Siemens, she served as Vice President, Manufacturing at Alladin Industries. After joining Siemens, Anne spent 11 years in the company’s Industry sector. Anne holds an MBA from Emory University and a B.S. in Industrial Management from Gannon University.

The STEMconnector selection process for the 100 Diverse Corporate Leaders in STEM included thorough research and outreach to more than 100 CEOs for nominations. Information for each nominee was collected in three areas: the executive’s background and career; the company’s STEM position within its industry; and the nominee’s perspective on a variety of issues in the STEM space, including mentoring and diversity.

Siemens has been recognized for its focus on diversity before. The company was listed as a Top Employer by The Black Collegian magazine; named as a Best Diversity Company by the readers of Diversity / Careers in Engineering and Information Technology; and recognized as a Top Fifty Company by

Woman Engineer magazine.

The Siemens U.S. Diversity and Inclusion Council also operates 29 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) with 122 active local chapters, which connect employees who share common diversity interests and strengthens our inclusive culture. The council recently was ranked No. 4 on the Nation’s Top 25 Employee Resource Groups and Diversity Councils list at the annual ERG & Council Conference in Washington, D.C.
